Earned the Navy's coveted "Wings of Gold" on February 7th, 1992 after 2 and 1/2 years of intensive academic and flight training

  • Student of the Year in 1992 out of over 1,000 officers
  • Qualified for Aircraft Carrier Operations
  • Graduated with Honors from Aviation Officer Candidate School (the setting for the movie "An Officer and A Gentleman")

Flew three types of aircraft while in training:

T-34C "Turbo Mentor"
T-2C "Buckeye"
TA-4J "Skyhawk"
